Description Technical Specs

HEAD's most technologically advanced racquet series takes power and comfort to a new level.  Made of a specially designed matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy, Metallix is one of the lightest and strongest new materials available today.

Another fantastic racket from Head. Offers excellent comfort and maneuverability. Perfect for players with all around ability.

Features
  • No chain is strong enough to harness the power of HEAD Metallix.

  • The alloy's grain size is 1000 times smaller than that of a typical metal. The decreased grain size translates into increased performance, or, as the Hall-Petch Effect states: smaller grains stronger material. The result is a lighter, stronger and more powerful racquet than ever before.

  • HEAD Metallix is incorporated into the graphite layers around the racquet head and at the T-joint. HEAD Metallix has been placed at 2, 5, 7 and 10 o'clock around the head. The result is frames that are incredibly strong and durable with minimal torque for more speed, power and accuracy, smash after smash.

Feels great/ durability? May 12, 2009
Reviewer: Ellery Likens from Spencer, IN United States
Right away this racket was going to be my favorite.  The even balance provides the perfect combination of manuverablity and power.  Even the factory string felt pretty good.  Power shots felt real solid and the medium flex shaft gives it a soft feel.  Unfortunately after only 3 weeks one clash did it in.
I am debating on buying another one.  I'm been playing with an Amortech 900 Power for over a year and have had much harder clashes that barely scratched the paint.  I love the way the Metallix 8000 plays, but I'm a little worried about its durability.
