Ashaway is best known for manufacturing the world class racket badminton strings used by many of the world's leading professional players. As the only United States manufacturer of racket strings, Ashaway stands alone in meeting the stringing needs of tennis, squash, racquetball and badminton players.

Ashaway is also a world leader in the production of bulk, non-sterile and non-absorbable medical threads and custom braided products. Each year over 75 million yards of medical threads are produced in our Ashaway, Rhode Island facility. The same stringent quality control system that is required for medical thread production is used in all Ashaway production. Ashaway bulk, non-sterile medical thread production ranges from 25-micron nylon monofilament for delicate neurosurgery to siliconized, braided polyester for critical open heart surgery.

Ashaway also produces braided twines for the textile industry, braided nylon cores for fly fishing lines, braided nylon and polyester cords for window sash balancers and many other custom braided lines for a variety of applications.
